Journalism Education Association

The Journalism Education Association (JEA) is the largest scholastic journalism organization for teachers and advisers. JEA's main goal: education teachers on how to best educate students. 

 

JEA provides training around the country at national conventions and institutes and offers national certification for teaching high school journalism. They publish print and online resources on the latest trends in journalism education and provide avenues for virtual discussion among teachers, as well as communities and mentoring to learn best practices while monitoring and actively defending First Amendment and scholastic press rights issues across the country.

Among JEA’s more than 2,700 members are journalism teachers and publications advisers, media professionals, press associations, adviser organizations, libraries, publishing companies, newspapers, radio stations and departments of journalism. JEA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Since 1924, JEA has been leading the way in scholastic journalism and media education.

National Scholastic Press Association 

Through education, training and recognition programs for members, the National Scholastic Press Association promotes the standards and ethics of good journalism as accepted and practiced by print, broadcast and electronic media in the United States.

Nebraska High School Press Association 

The Nebraska High School Press Association (NHSPA) offers similar benefits as JEA and NSPA, but is exclusive to high schools within the state of Nebraska. Journalism advisers from across the state server on the executive board and help promote and encourage scholastic journalism. A Winter Contest is held each November and the NHSPA works with the NSAA to coordinate the Nebraska State Journalism Contest each April. Like JEA and NSPA, the NHSPA offers curriculum, support and mentoring programs. 

Columbia Scholastic Press Association 

CSPA is an international student press association, founded in 1925, whose goal is to unite student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques and award programs.

ISSUU

ISSUU is a free electronic publishing platform for magazines, catalogs, yearbook and newspapers.
